Why take up a social activity?

They can help us to maintain social connections and reduce feelings of loneliness.

A great way to learn a new skill or revisit a hobby you used to enjoy.

Taking part in social activities is shown to help us to stay sharp in later life.

What do we want to do for older and vulnerable people?

Helping our older and most vulnerable people is another priority of ours. Age UK reports show that the population of over 65s in St Helens / Moss Bank are at ‘very high risk’ of loneliness.

Our own consultation with families and older people accessing our services indicate a greater need for social activities, more often, and with greater diversity of choice.

Maintaining a healthier lifestyle is also important, which is why we work in partnership to offer a weekly leisure activity throughout the year; as well as creative and artistic classes to provide a fun, creative outlet whilst making friends.
