In March 2023, The Albert Hunt Trust contributed funds towards our Community Engagement role who helps to organise activities, engages with local residents, groups and organisations. This ensures that our programme is need led and responsive to the community.
As an independent charity, we depend on funding to keep our doors open year in, year out. Here is a list of some successful funding bids we have secured. Bids take a long time to put together and maintain, it’s a never-ending process of applying and monitoring, but without this vital work, we would not be here. We want to thank all our funders, particularly the ones below for their continued support, and the trust they put in Park Farm Community Centre to deliver projects for our community.
Amount: £1,476
In July 2021, The Skelton Charity again generously awarded us capital funds to support our community projects. In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the centre formed several new partnerships and launched activities to help improve the health and wellbeing of local people. We needed extra support to purchase furniture so that we could welcome more groups and users back.
Amount: £450
In July 2021, ASDA Foundation awarded us this funding to offer two afternoon tea events for our older adults as a welcome back from the coronavirus pandemic restrictions and lockdowns. The first of these events was held on Thursday 5 th August at our Summer Fun afternoon event and was thoroughly enjoyed by all involved. Here’s to the next one!
Amount: £23,524
This amazing grant received from Children in Need was given in response to COVID-19 and chiefly supports project work with children and young people who have been impacted by the pandemic. It funds a series of themed Youth Projects until March 2022 to help improve the health, wellbeing and opportunities of participants, including support in transition work to high school and facilitating two residential trips for the young people in our community.
Amount: £5,000
We received a generation donation from Amazon in December 2020 in response to our emergency COVID relief efforts and the loss of income we had suffered over the lockdown that year. These funds will be spent on improving our meeting rooms on the first floor, purchasing new equipment, and supporting current social groups.
Amount: £300
This local supermarket foundation and their in-store Community Champion have been consistently generous to our smaller charitable projects over the years. They have funded a number of community engagement events, tea parties for older people, provided arts and crafts for existing groups and most recently have helped sustain a popular group that happens each Wednesday: Carr Mill Connects with Art. Thank you, ASDA Foundation!
Amount: £3,920
The Steve Morgan Foundation kindly awarded us a grant in May 2020 during the Coronavirus epidemic to help facilitate our Emergency Food Parcels project and to support us in keeping our building expenses covered whilst we were closed to the public and groups who pay to use our rooms on a weekly basis.
